Trump’s Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy Moves to Shut Down Hundreds of CDL Mills Violating Federal Regulations
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today announced that more than 550 sham CDL training schools found in violation of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)’s standards of safety received notices of proposed removal from FMCSA’s national training provider registry. FMCSA mobilized more than 300 investigators across 50 states to conduct over 1,400 sting operations. Noncompliant schools lacked qualified instructors, used fake addresses, and failed to properly train drivers on the transportation of hazardous materials, among other violations. One school removed for violating safety standards had previously provided training for school bus drivers.

'Exports to China Look Dismal,' Leader of Busiest US Seaport Says
LOS ANGELES, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Exports from the Port of Los Angeles, the busiest U.S. gateway for ocean trade, fell 8% in January to the lowest monthly output in nearly three years, Executive Director Gene Seroka said on Tuesday.
"Exports to China look dismal," Seroka said after the Port of Los Angeles handled 104,297 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of loaded export containers in January.
President Trump's aggressive use of tariffs has upended global trade and retaliatory trade duties from China and other nations have hit U.S. exporters like farmers particularly hard.
